// Frequently asked questions

Your questions,
answered.

Everything we get asked — about projects, contracts, IP, certifications and partnerships. Can't find your answer? Just ask us.

01
What is your typical project duration?
+

It depends on the scope and complexity. Typical durations:

  • Discovery & Feasibility: 2-4 weeks
  • Architecture & Design: 3-6 weeks
  • Prototyping (POC): 8-16 weeks
  • Pilot deployment: 3-6 months
  • Industrial production: 6-12 months to reach scale, then ongoing

From first conversation to industrial deployment, expect 12-24 months for a full IoT product. We can move faster if you already have hardware or a clear specification.

02
Do you sign NDAs?
+

Yes, systematically. We sign a mutual NDA at the start of every engagement — usually within 24 hours of your request. We use your template or ours (UK law or French law, your choice).

All your data, code, IP and strategic information remain your exclusive property throughout the engagement.

03
What is the difference between Linkweez and a software agency?
+

Software agencies build apps. We build connected systems end-to-end: hardware, embedded firmware, connectivity, security, cloud, applications, AND industrial production.

If you need just a mobile app or just a website, hire a software agency. If you have a physical product that needs to be connected, manufactured at scale, certified, and operated reliably — that's what we do.

04
Do you work with startups, or only with enterprises?
+

Both. Roughly 60% of our work is with established companies (industrial groups, real estate, infrastructure operators) and 40% with funded startups (Series A to Series C) building IoT-enabled products.

For very early-stage startups (pre-seed, seed), we typically offer feasibility studies and POC work rather than full industrial development — the budgets and risk profile differ.

05
What is the typical budget range for an IoT project?
+

Order of magnitude (engineering only, excluding hardware production at scale):

  • Feasibility study: €15-40k
  • Architecture & specification: €40-100k
  • End-to-end prototype (POC): €150-400k
  • Pilot deployment: €300k-1M
  • Industrial production setup: €500k-2M
  • Operated platform (annual): from €100k/year

Total programme typically €1-5M over 18-24 months. We offer fixed-price or T&M contracts depending on the phase.

06
Who owns the IP we develop together?
+

You do. All IP we develop specifically for your project — schematics, firmware, cloud code, mobile apps, documentation — is transferred to you upon final delivery. You can patent it, license it, sell it, open-source it. We don't claim co-ownership.

The exception: generic toolkits and frameworks we develop across multiple clients remain ours (we license them to you free of charge for use within your product). This is clearly itemised in the contract.

07
Do you handle certifications (CE, FCC, RED, etc.)?
+

Yes. We pilot the certification process from end-to-end:

  • CE (Europe), UKCA (UK), FCC (US), IC (Canada)
  • RED (radio equipment EU), ISED (Canada radio)
  • RoHS, REACH (substances)
  • Sector-specific: ATEX, IECEx, medical IEC 60601, etc.

We work with established certification labs (BACL, Eurofins, Bureau Veritas, TÜV) and your product designs are made certification-ready from day one. Certification costs (lab fees) are passed through at cost.

08
What if we already have hardware suppliers or technology partners?
+

No problem. We frequently work alongside your existing suppliers. We can take the role of systems integrator: coordinating your hardware vendor + your firmware team + your cloud provider into a coherent product.

If you have a preferred PCB manufacturer, a specific cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP), or a specific tech stack, we adapt. Our value is in the integration discipline and the engineering rigour — not in vendor lock-in.

09
Do you provide ongoing support after delivery?
+

Yes, with clear options:

  • Warranty (12 months): bug fixes included after final delivery
  • Operated platforms: we host, monitor and operate your cloud infrastructure 24/7 under SLA
  • Technical support: levels 1-2-3, with response time guarantees
  • Roadmap evolutions: quarterly releases for ongoing product improvement
  • OTA updates: managed firmware update infrastructure

Or, if you prefer to be autonomous, we transfer everything (code, docs, training) and you operate yourself. Your choice.

10
Can we visit your offices or meet the team?
+

Absolutely. Once we are engaged, you'll have regular face-to-face contact with our engineering team — kickoffs, design reviews, milestone meetings.

We have offices in London (HQ), Singapore (APAC hub) and Paris (R&D centre, opening 2026), plus relay offices in Doha and Tunis. We can also come to your premises for critical workshops.

To start, simply book an exploratory call: 45 minutes, free, no commitment.
